Happy Chef

Too much. Fish, we had a Happy Chef in my town right (Onawa) right by the interstate. There was a big statue of the Happy Chef if front of the restaurant and you could push a button and it would talk to you. Almost as popular in Iowa back then as the "Old Home Filler Up And Keep On A Truckin' Cafe" with CW McCall, if you remember that bit.

Lived in Georgia for a while too and the Waffle Houses at 3 A.M. were exactly the right time to show up (unless you were in downtown Atlanta by GT Univ., then it was the Varsity). Was introduced to grits at that place.

I actually grew up being in the minority as black people were the majority where I lived, and most of my friends are black, so no I do not feel uncomfortable around them or anyone else......

my wife is not from US, think I feel uncomfortable around her family? Of course not.....

for me, it has to do with dimeanor and how they are dressed...not the color of the skin. if it was a bunch of black guys with raiders hats on sideways, talking loud, acting crazy or drunk...i would get the hell out of there fast. if it was a black family or some black dudes in business suits, i wouldn't think anything of it.

RobFunk, unfortunately that's just me. I'm not pulling any out of normal stunts here. I like your sense of humor, and I get along with you pretty darn well. However, I think that you are looking at the problem in the wrong way. I do believe your views are off track. I'm sure you are being honest with your feelings. You want to know what is really humorous and ironic? I don't picture posters in any certain way on purpose but images kind of get ingrained in my mind over time about what posters are like. Human nature to do so, I'm sure. What is really funny is that I pictured you and Sherman as black. RobFunk, you and your music choices and some of the stuff you say...I fell into thinking you were of African descent. Sherman too. That's not a negative, of course. You would think that this thread would have dispelled those thoughts, but I still think of Blue Edwards, Sherman and RobFunk as black. Until I ever meet you guys....that is what is in my mind. tulsa
